Portugal defender Pepe confirmed he would be leaving Real Madrid, but insisted a deal is yet to be agreed with Paris Saint-Germain as he revealed interest from English top flight.
Pepe’s contract with the La Liga giant will come to an end at the end of the month and was holding out for a new two-year deal at Madrid.
But, after being offered just a one-year extension, he has decided to head for the exit doors after ten years reign at the club.
“It is clear that I will not continue at Real Madrid,” he told Cope.
“One stage is over and, from now on, another one will start.”
Pepe assisted Madrid in winning three La Liga title and three Champions League trophy, but injuries saw him sidelined for most of this season with just 18 appearances across all competitions.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Ligue 1 giants PSG and Serie A outfit Inter, but said he is also a transfer target for some Premier League clubs.
“There are more offers, also from England,” Pepe said.
Zinedine Zidane’s Madrid enjoyed an extraordinary campaign that included winning both the La Liga and the Champions League.
But Pepe has lots of questions over his exit, saying: “I don’t want to blame anyone. What Zidane has done with Real Madrid is spectacular, but there are things I don’t understand.
“I didn’t say goodbye to Zidane because Zidane and Real Madrid knew I was going before I did.”
