Chelsea and Liverpool to compete for the signature of PSG star Javier Pastore

According to a report from El Gol Digital, Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool are set to compete with each other in their bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore.

Pastore moved to the Parc des Princes from Palermo in 2011, immediately becoming an integral part of the club’s revival.

However, over the recent years, several injuries, combined with the arrival of a number of top talent at the French club, have stunted the growth of the 28-year-old attacking midfielder and he has fallen down the pecking order.

With the world record arrival of both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at the club in the summer, El Gol Digital claims that the Argentinian star is now available in the transfer market, with a price tag of £26 million.

Additionally, the report claims that both Liverpool and Chelsea, along with Serie A side Inter Milan, are keen to sign Pastore.

Liverpool is interested in Pastore as a possible replacement for Philippe Coutinho, should the Brazilian push for a move to Barcelona once again in January.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are known to be in the market for a midfielder and view the PSG star as an alternative to Everton’s Ross Barkley

Finally, Inter Milan have made public their wish to add an attack-minded midfielder to the San Siro, with the Nerazzurri believed to be considering making a move for Pastore and Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.
