Arsenal to make massive clear out to bring in new guns

Arsenal have started their transfer business for the summer very well and it is a good thing for manager, Unai Emery. The club is still in search of some new players to fill areas that are in short of players. In collaboration with the experts of we will be highlighting possible additions and possible departure.

Stephan Lichtsteiner

Arsenal have already announce the signing of Switzerland full back, Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer after his contract expired at Juventus. The club got the veteran defender to have options at the right back position as Hector Bellerin is the only recognized player to play there. He will be coming with lot of experience and leadership quality for the team as a whole. However Lichtsteiner might not be on top of his game coming back from the world cup. Several World Cup predictions are showing the Swiss team might be able to be one of the surprises this edition and therefor Lichtsteiner will be missed in a big part of the Arsenal pre season.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos

The Borrusia Dortmund defender is in line to be announced as an Arsenal player on 1st of July. He will be joining as part of the defensive overhaul the team is going through. He is expected to join for a fee of around 16m. Having worked under Mislintat during his Dortmund days, it will be an easy way of settling into the team especially with the presence of former team mates like Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan.

Bernd Leno

The latest report has it that Arsenal have tabled a £20m bid for the Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper. Leno have been long identified as the potential replacement for Petr Cech as Arsenal. He has had a great season at Leverkusen that he was also on the watch list of Napoli whom were close to signing him before the deal broke down. It is a moment for Arsenal to pounce on the opportunity and get their man.

Lucas Torreira

Lucas Torreira to Arsenal is almost a done deal after his club, Sampdoria agreed to a fee of €30m for the defensive midfielder. The Uruguayan international will be announced an Arsenal player any moment from now as all seems to be agreed between both clubs with all that is left is personal terms for the 22 year old.

Caglar Soyuncu

Arsenal have plans to bring in another defender from Bundesliga club, Freiburg. Soyuncu has been linked to Arsenal for a while now but many felt the deal is out since the gunners have gotten two other defenders but all seems set for the club to get another central defender.

Lucaz Perez

The Deportivo Lacorona loaned, Lucaz Perez might be finding it difficult to break into the Arsenal team under Unai Emery. This might be due to the flurry of attacking players Arsenal have at its disposal currently which might even force more attacking players to be leaving.

Jack Wilshere

Jack Wilshere’s case with the club is one that has divided the fans across the line. His contract expires this June and will be a free agent. With a new contract not yet agreed, the possibility that he could be leaving the Emirates is so likely. Many fans want him to be given a new contract. Many reports has it that he has been offered a contract which does not meet his expectation which is why he’s stalling on signing it. The club is not ready to budge likewise Wilshere. Many will not be surprised if he leaves but it will just represent letting one of the true Arsenal core of the Emirates generation gone.
