Arsenal handed big injury boost ahead of clash with West Brom

Mesut Ozil has commenced full training at the Emirates and will be playing against West Brom on Monday night.

The German international was available for the full training session this morning at London Colney ahead of tomorrow’s game against the Baggies at the Emirates.

Ozil, heavily linked with Manchester United was out of Arsenal’s ;ast three games due to a knee injury – he last appearance for the Gunners came in the 3-0 victory over Bournemouth on September 9.

Alexis Sanchez also took full part of the training session, meaning Arsene Wenger could be able to start his two star players for the first time this season.

Arsenal, however, will be missing Danny Welbeck who is out with a groin injury, while Francis Coquelin is also out with a hamstring problem. Calum Chammbers will not feature due to the hip injury he sustained against Doncaster.

Jack Wilshere is competing for a spot in the squad having come through the full 90 minutes in midweek in the League Cup.

Speaking about Monday night’s game, Arsene Wenger said: “West Brom have a way to deal with everybody that is a strong defensive basis.

“They have the culture of the Premier League because they are there for a long time, they have a manager who knows how the league works.

“They are strong on quick transition from defence to attack, they are very strong on set pieces, solid defensively – it’s tough to score against them.

“It’s a team that requires full concentration.”
