Olivier Giroud earns nomination for 2017 Puskas Award with his Scorpion Kick goal

The Puskas award is, according to FIFA’s own words, ‘bestowed upon the player adjudged to have scored the best goal of the year.’

This year Arsenal have a representative in the form of Olivier Giroud, for his one of a kind Scorpion Kick striker against Crystal Palace in the previous season.

The French international was involved in the build-up, with lovely flick, before giving a perfect finish to Sanchez’s cross in grand style.

The goals will be given a thorough examination by a panel of judges which consists of Henrik Larsson, Pedrag Mijatovic, Celia Sasic, Alan Shearer, and Abby Wambach.

Should the HFB fail to win, it would be a huge injustice the likes of which the world has never witnessed before and people, especially the Gunners fans should take to the streets for a protest.

While we await announcement of the winner, have a delight with the goal again.
