Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has revealed need to cover for two position in the Merseyside’s’ squad, according to reports.
The reports states that German Coach wants to strengthen his shaky defence come January after so many mistakes being made at the midfield this season.
The Merseysiders have conceded a total of 19 goals in 15 games this season as they continue to pay for their under-performance in the midfield, but their outstanding attacking performances have covered for that many times.
After losing Joe Gomez and Joel Matip to injury, klopp was forced to start midfielders Emre Can and Georgino Wijnaldum at the Centre-half alongside Dejan Lovren in their 5-1 win against Brighton last weekend.
Wijnaldum, who is new to defense said: “The manager was running out of options and he picked me and Emre,” he said. “It was really hard in the first half because I didn’t know what to do every time
“For Emre it wasn’t that different because he has played there before, but for me it was difficult because you need to know when to close spaces.”
Fortunately for Liverpool, a new Centre-half is on Klopp’s mind after Liverpool failed to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton during the summer transfer window.
Also, Klopp will be moving in on signing a new goalkeeper next month as he failed to sign the perfect assistant to Mignolet, when he bought mistake-plagued goalkeeper Loris Karius from Mainz in the summer.
Liverpool are currently in the fourth position in the Premier League, only one point behind Arsenal, who dropped after losing to Manchester United on Saturday.
