Injury woes ahead of weekend clash

Crystal Palace haven’t had a great start to the Premier League this season, and at this point, it looks like they could be hitting rock bottom.

They come against Chelsea this weekend, and adding salt to an open injury for the club, facing the defending Champions will not be an easy task – and it seems they could be missing Wayne Hennessey, who picked up an injury while on duty for his country – meaning he’s another player who might not feature in the game, that seems to be nursing an injury.

Chelsea has their own injury headache to worry about, with Alvaro Morata and N’Golo Kante, and while Antonio Conte might find it hard to replace the duo, there is one man who believes he can lead the line and has no issues taking his chances.

Michy Batshuayi’s time at the Stamford Bridge has been filled with ups and down, with Conte seemingly unwilling to trust the player – yet he has scored key goals for the Blues, and is ready to have a go at it again.

He was speaking after the injury to Morata, and said: “It sounds strange to say, but someone’s bad luck is sometimes the happiness of the other.

“I know that I will have more playing opportunities in the coming weeks. It’s up to me to show that I’m capable.

“It’s a chance for me. If I’m called on, I want to be ready and efficient. I have to stay really focused.”
