Arsenal is prepared to sign PSG attacker Julian Draxler in a swap deal that would involve Alexis Sanchez moving to the other way in January. Sanchez is in the final year of his contract which will expire this summer and has been unwilling to put pen to paper for the Gunners.
He was keen on a summer transfer to Premier League rival Manchester City, however a deadline day £60m move fell through when Arsenal failed to agree a deal with Monaco for Thomas Lemar. Arsenal are ready to swap star forward Alexis Sanchez for PSG attacker Julian Draxler
Now, according to a report by Daily Star, Arsenal are arranging a new transfer in order to get value from any Sanchez deal, rather than losing him for free next summer. Manager Arsene Wenger would prefer Sanchez to transfer to a different league rather than to a Premier League rival and has been keeping an eye on Julian Draxler for a while now.
The 24-year-old Germany international signed for PSG Last January but has fallen down the pecking order due to the world record arrival of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, as well as the revived form of Edinson Cavani. However, he has known quality and would be able to replicate or even better Sanchez’s performance for Arsenal.
A complication comes in the fact that Sanchez, as he will be running down his contract next summer, would be free to talk to any foreign club about a move in January, without having to go through the Gunners.
