Arsenal legend-turned-pundit Ian Wright feels that Marcus has what it takes to win the Premier League and the Champions League with Manchester United. The former Gunners star spoke highly of the forward, who he believes has the passion for success in terms of Silverware.
Rashford has undergone a drastic change since he made his debut against Midtjylland in the Europa League last February, and he has now become a regular with both United and the England national side. Speaking on ITV, Wright has supported the 19-year-old’s ambition of adding the big prize to his list of achievement with United while also dreaming to hoping to win the World Cup with the Three Lions.
“He’s driven. What he said there, Premier League, Champions League and World Cup. Some people might laugh and scoff at that but when you look at him and look at his dedication and drive, you wouldn’t put that past him. People will say ‘yeah, he’s not going to do it with England’ but if everybody can start having that same drive and vision, anything could happen. It’s great to see,” he told ITV h/t The Express.
The teenager began the season playing as a regular on the left flank, but Wright dreams of seeing him deployed to the centre-forward position where his pace and movement would put fear in the heart of opposing defenders, he added: “I would love to see him have a berth right up the centre. His pace, his movement, he’s got I think some of the best movement in the players we’ve got.”
Rashford has only found the net once in his four appearance for Manchester United this season. Last night, he provided a sublime long-range assist for Harry Kane, who scored the final goal in England’s 4-0 victory over Malta in a World Cup qualifier.
